A Visit to Uratex CDO Plant and Showroom

RGC Group of Companies, the company behind the top foam brand Uratex has opened a new plant and a showroom in Cagayan de Oro City. The opening of the new plant and the showroom is part of the company’s commitment to expand in Visayas and Mindanao. I was one of the bloggers who had a chance to visit the newly opened Uratex manufacturing plant and showroom last April 11, 2015. During the event, I had the opportunity to check out their mattresses and other products like beddings, furniture, fabrics and etc. But one thing got my attention was their mattress. I had my first encounter with Uratex mattress when it was displayed at Ace Hardware at SaveMore Capistrano. I was in love with it at first glance but sad to say customers were not allowed to sit or lie down on it.

I am thankful during my visit to the showroom because I finally had the chance to try their mattress. This is the best thing about visiting a showroom because customers are given the chance to lie down or sit on each mattress so they can find which bed or mattress suits them best.

Lying down and sitting on a Uratex mattress was indeed very comfortable. To be honest, I really wished to take it home.

We also had the chance to visit the manufacturing plant. We were able to witness how the foam is processed. I wish I can share photos in here but picture taking was prohibited inside the plant. The CDO Uratex plant now produces a minimum of 1,000 foams a day.

HONDA's Best On/Off Road Motorcycles

Honda Philippines launches their best On/Off Road bikes in CDO - the XR125L and XR150L. These motorcycles are specifically designed for Filipinos who travel frequently helping them cope with choppy, bumpy, rugged terrain. 

 The XR125L is loved by many because of its simplicity, solid look and reliable performance. I have witnessed its looks and performance during the XR 125L Off-Road Race Clinic in partnership with Desmark held at Pueblo de Oro Business Park last February 14, 2015. 

Mr. Jovie Saulog, one of the greatest riders in the history of the Philippine motocross was present during the event. He was the one who gave instructions and tips for Off-road riders and motocross wannabes. Mr. Jordan Herrera, a celebrity motocross rider was also present during the event to assist Mr. Saulog during the demo. Globe Opens a Wonderful World in CDO: #NextACT

Globe Telecom is ready to open its fully renovated store this coming Monday, December 15, 2014.  The newly upgraded store which is going to be named as G3 store is designed by architect Tim Kobe, the creative mind behind the design of the iconic Apple store. This store will open up a wonderful world for Globe subscribers and customers in CDO as it feature the most sophisticated and innovative store design.

The Globe G3 store in Limketkai is one of the biggest stores in the Philippines. The other is in SM North Edsa.

Flashback…

A few months ago, while the renovation was still going on, Globe Telecom launched the GEN3 ACT (Art+Community+Technology) events. It was a series of events that featured live art installations which provides curiosity to the public as to what may be inside the new Globe GEN3 store. The creative mind behind the art installations was a tie-up of local artists led by Mr. Ross Capili.

I was trying to catch the attention of the local artists so they will give me a chance to paint a few strokes on the wall, but they were too busy to finish their artworks. I just had this for photo op. :-)

The store’s renovation was truly fun and engaging and I’m sure a lot of you are now very excited to take a peak of the newly renovated store.

Globe Launches Global Filipino Schools Program in Cagayande Oro

Globe Telecom is championing 21st century learning and integration of ICT in education by recently introducing its Global Filipino Schools (GFS) program through a ceremonial turnover of the Globe mobile laboratory, the first installment of the program's ICT equipment enhancement at the City Central School in Cagayan de Oro.

The turn over was graced by top Globe Telecom officials together with celebrity endorser Ms. Sarah Geronimo, DepEd Regional X Office Supervisor, Ms. Joy Sabanpan and City Central School's Lead Principal Mr. Celso Pagulon.

Global Filipino Schools Program is a long-term educational initiative that seeks to transform selected public schools into centers of ICT excellence and innovative education programs to public schools, teachers and students. We want to be able to increase their access to digital content, making learning more exciting and engaging for the students," said Issa Cabreira, VP for Globe Prepaid Business.

Globe partnered with City Central School and DepEd Division of CDO to train teachers to integrate technology in education and to provide Globe mobile laboratory package which includes a set of netbooks, mobile projectors, printers, and sound systems for use of Homeroom teachers at each grade level.

The Global Filipino School Program will also provide City Central School superior online connectivity for the teachers to access limitless teaching and learning engagements available on the internet as well as enhanced ICT equipment and the introduction of the the 21st Century Teaching Methods which will be provided to teachers through the Global Filipino Teacher Program (GFT), a 5-day teacher training workshop on Project-based Learning and ICT Integration in the classroom which was co-developed with Coalition for Better Education, a non-profit organization committed to forwarding 21st Century learning through teacher training.

OPERATION BLESSING JOINS FORCES WITH TULONG SA KAPWA AND CAPITOL UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CITY IN HELPING FILIPINOS WITH LIFE-THREATENING CONDITIONS

Cagayan de Oro – On March 18 to 20, Operation Blessing Foundation Philippines, Inc. (OB Philippines) will conduct a three-day surgical mission in Cagayan de Oro City for poor Filipinos with serious health problems.

This is in partnership with Tulong sa Kapwa-Philippine-American Association of Connecticut (PAAC), SHARE Foundation and Capitol University Medical Center. A contingent of 17 medical professionals composed of anaesthesiologists, electrophysiologist, pediatric ophthalmologist, cardiac surgeon, OB/GYN, orthopedic surgeon and registered nurses from the US.

They will perform open-heart surgeries, pacemaker insertion, orthopedic and gynaecologic procedures, and pediatric and adult strabismus repair for patients who cannot afford expensive medical operations.

 “Our partnership with PAAC and Capitol University Medical Center will surely give hope to our kababayans who have life-threatening medical conditions. They are desperate for surgeries that can help them live better lives,” said Dr. Kim April Pascual, OB Philippines’ Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. “We are deeply appreciative of the enthusiasm, dedication, and commitment showed by the doctors and volunteers who are joining this event,” she adds.
